Slow Roasting Joint

How to Cook a Slow Roasting Joint:

  1. Take the roasting joint out of the packet and allow it to get to room temperature before cooking. (For a 1.15kg roasting joint, we would recommend defrosting it by storing in the fridge for 24 hours)
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  3. Place a non-stick frying pan on high heat, and add two tablespoons of oil.
  4. Once the pan is hot enough, carefully place the roasting joint into the frying pan, and sear on all sides until nicely browned.
  5. Transfer the joint to a roasting tray, lightly cover in tin foil, and place in the oven for 15 minutes.
  6. After 15 minutes, turn the heat down to 170 degrees and cook for *
  7. Once cooked, let the meat rest for ten minutes before carving.
